Pessac-Leognan

Pessac-Leognan

Pessac-Léognan is the only appellation that has been classified for its red wines but also its white wines, with 16 Crus Classés in red and white, the appellation of the fabulous Château Haut Brion, 1er Cru Classé in 1855 . The red wines resulting from blending between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are expressive wines, remarkably structured with great finesse. The white wines assembled mainly from Sauvignon and Sémillon are undoubtedly the biggest whites of Bordeaux. They owe their reputation to their aromatic richness, their ability to be very large whites from the first years but also their aptitude for aging. Among the sublime wines of the appellation are the Château Pape Clement, the Château Smith Haut Lafitte whose second white wine, the Haut de Smith is often a pure marvel. We also love the wines of Château Haut Bailly and the Parde de Haut Bailly their 2nd, the wines of Domaine de Chevalier, Château Carbonnieux, Château Larrivet Haut Brion and Château Haut Bergey.
