Condrieu is an appellation belonging to the Rhône region, an AOC that has existed since 1940. One of the northernmost regions of the Rhone Valley, mainly known and recognized for its delicious and numerous white wines.
These wines draw their particular flavors from the main variety of which they are made, the viognier, a grape that almost disappeared in the 50s but that some independent winemakers continued to live until its rebirth in the 80s. is almost exclusive to the AOC Condrieu, only wines from the Côte Rôtie appellation can have a maximum of 20% Viognier.
It is today an appellation of about 110 hectares which is a reference in the wine world in France and abroad.
The wines of the appellation offer strong aromas of fruit, white peach, apricot or vanilla. A Condrieu is a wine with a golden color, green reflections, delicate and aromatic. It blossoms in its youth, in the mouth, it is round, with a robust body impregnated with peach and violet.
The wines of Condrieu are young to drink because very sensitive to oxidation.
