Givry Wines
Appellation of the Côte Chalonaise, Givry is first recognized for its red wines, Pinot Noir. The appellation also produces whites with Chardonnay bases. Givry: 280 hectares of which 237 in red, 122 hectares classified 1st Cru. Among the 38 climates classified in 1er Cru, one finds among others: the Clos Vernoy, Clos du Cellier aux Moines, Le Clos Salomon, Crouzot, La Brulée, Le Vernoy. The appellation also counts more than 25 places-dit. The Reds are often quite closed in their early years, but after 3-5 years of bottle they soften become round and delicate
