11 visionaries founded Bodegas Protos in 1927. A winery is built in Anguix (Burgos), surrounded by old vineyards of 1400 hectares of high quality where great wines of Ribera del Duero appellation are produced. Its terroir consists of soils poor in organic matter and mostly limestone. Most of the time, they are sandy in texture, facing south for optimal sunlight. Its climate gives a special characteristic to the Tempranillo and the thermal variations favor a slow and progressive maturation of the fruit, giving it a good sugar content and a higher concentration of tannins. Definitely a great Spanish wine produced in Castilla y León.
