Described as one of the most beautiful vineyards in the world, Klein Constantia is situated amidst century-old trees and lush vegetation on the upper foothills of the Constantiaberg in South Africa, with superb views over the Constantia Valley and False Bay.
The estate extends over 146 hectares and was part of "Constantia", a vast property created in 1685 by Simon Van der Stel. The valley was chosen for its decomposed granite soils cooled by ocean breezes.
The rulers and aristocracy throughout 18th century Europe had a high esteem for Constance Wine. This magnificent sweet wine was relaunched by Klein Constantia in 1986, reaffirming the place of this unique natural sweet wine in history.
Today, Klein Constantia continues to produce some of South Africa's finest wines and the best dessert wine in the world; wines that reflect Constantia's cool climate.
