Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is one of the emblematic wines of the Saint Julien appellation, renowned and appreciated by Bordeaux wine lovers. The Château is so named because of beautiful (and large) stones characteristic of Saint-Julien. The estate of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou covers about 245 hectares including 75 hectares of vines. The Borie family has been the owner for more than 60 years and today Bruno Borie manages the estate. The vineyard is planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. Often referred to as “super second“, Ducru Beaucaillou’s wines are structured, full, of a magnificent length. The second wine, La Croix de Beaucaillou, is also a superb success vintage after vintage Bruno Borie also owner of Château Lalande Borie since 1970. 12bouteilles recommend the Croix de Beaucaillou which is a sure bet of the Saint Julien appellation.
