A family legacy rooted in exceptional terroir

Nestled in the heart of Northern Rhône, Domaine Chèze stands out as a leading estate of the Saint Joseph and Condrieu appellations. Since 1978, Louis Chèze has been crafting wines that showcase the finest expression of this challenging yet rewarding terroir. Guided by a commitment to excellence, he combines meticulous vineyard care with traditional winemaking, building a legacy based on precision, passion, and respect for nature.

The estate stretches across 35 hectares of steep, granitic slopes, perfectly suited to the region’s iconic varietals: Syrah for reds and Viognier for whites. Practicing sustainable viticulture, the team hand-harvests the grapes to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. Manual vineyard work is essential, especially on slopes where machinery cannot operate. This hands-on approach preserves the purity of the fruit and the integrity of each parcel.

Vinification is carried out with a plot-by-plot philosophy, allowing each wine to reflect its origin. Red wines are aged in oak barrels, bringing depth and complexity, while whites are vinified in stainless steel or barrels depending on the desired style. The result is a collection of balanced, expressive wines that embody the character of the Northern Rhône and the vision of Louis Chèze.
