Rémi Jobard's adventure began in 1991 and took over the estate that had belonged to the family since the 16th century. Many changes followed: Rémi drastically reduced the yield and did all the work of the vineyard by hand. He decided to lead the vineyard towards organic farming in 2005 and to better control the aging of wine barrels. The estate occupies 9 hectares of Chardonnay, divided between three first-rate vineyards: "Genevrières", "Poruzots" and "Charmes" and the famous "Les Narvaux" and "Les Chevalières". In addition to this range, the cellar also produces fine reds in Monthélie and Volnay-Santenots 1er Cru. Domaine Rémi Jobard is a terroir, which is why he decided in 1998 to no longer use herbicides and chemical treatments to optimize its beautiful limestone hillsides. The harvest is carried out by the same team every year, the experienced harvesters will not hesitate to sort the vines directly for the first time. Rémi focuses on making very pure wines. Apart from organic viticulture, the winegrower hardly intervenes: the wine is aged in Austrian oak barrels of 650 liters in semi-stucco Stockinger, almost without aroma but of a beautiful structure.
Today, the reputation of the Rémi Jobard estate is to produce exquisite, mellow and mineral wines, in particular wines that age with the breed. With such a name, he can only make crazy wines! Therefore, Burgundy tastes like a "village", the "village" is like a first class cellar, and a first class cellar is like a large cellar!
