Château Latour Martillac 2020
Bordeaux - Pessac-Leognan - Cru Classé - Red Wine -This 2020 vintage of Chateau Latour Martillac red is a favourite, lots of finesse, a lovely balance between black fruits, lovely acidity and very elegant tannins.To the eye, it is an intense red colour with violet highlights.
The nose is dominated by black fruits such as blackberry and cherry, followed by hints of liquorice.
On the palate, the attack is greedy and fruity, combined with good length and plenty of freshness. The finish is elegant with silky tannins.
Major investments have been made on the estate with a new vinification cellar. The quality of the wine has greatly improved, producing more concentrated, richer wines, this 2020 vintage is a fine example of this, a magnificent Pessac Léognan that will appeal to lovers of this appellation.
The 2020 vintage blend is made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot.
Maturing was 12 months in oak barrels, 40% of which were new.
The 12bottle tip : A wine that can wait a few years in your cellar but that you can already enjoy with great pleasure. Decant the bottle at least 2 hours before, serve the wine chilled around 18°c. It will go wonderfully with red meats and cheeses.
