Burgundy - Beaune - Red Wine -For the 2021 vintage, the wines produced within the Beaune appellation stand out from their predecessors thanks to their remarkable precision and intensity.
Meticulous selection from the moment the grapes are picked has led to the production of Côte de Beaune wines of excellent quality, characterised by remarkable balance. They offer aromas of red berries that blend harmoniously with nuances of blond tobacco and spices, creating a great delicacy.
Tasting note :
Robe : A sublime purple-red colour, intense and deep.
Nose : The bouquet reveals classic Pinot Noir aromas at their peak, with notes of raspberries, cherries and a touch of warm spices at the top.
Palate : This wine also reveals great richness on the palate, with a depth of ripe black fruit accompanied by a slightly creamy, silky texture. The Pinot Noir expresses itself in a powerful and delicious way, with perfectly controlled use of wood. This is a Beaune 1er Cru of great finesse, both delicious and promising for the future.
The plots of Vignes Franches are small, covering just 21 hectares, but it enjoys an ideal location on the southern slopes of the Beaune appellation, characterised by early ripening. Nestling in poor clay-limestone soil, the vines have to be plunged deep to draw their nutrients, giving the wine elegance rather than marked power.
The wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes (100%) and comes from the Beaune 1er Cru Vignes Franches appellation. The wine was matured for an average of 12 months, 30% of which in new barrels, all handcrafted by Fabrique Eric Millard.
The 12bouteilles advice : Ideal with beef carpaccio, roast poultry, grilled aubergines or Livarot cheese. This wine can be cellared for 8 to 15 years.
