Joseph Drouhin : Chablis 2020
Burgundy - Chablis - White Wine -This Chablis 2020 is a dry white wine 100% Chardonnay produced by Domaine Joseph Drouhin, a famous Burgundy estate. It comes from vineyards located in the northernmost region of Burgundy on a "Kimmeridgian" limestone soil containing billions of tiny marine fossils in a whitish cement that must have been at the bottom of the ocean... hundreds of millions of years ago. This marine origin gives a unique flavour to Chablis wines.
Tasting notes :
The robe: pale gold colour, green reflections
The nose: freshness, citrus notes (lemon, grapefruit), small very pleasant touches of fern, coriander
The palate: dry and fruity with mineral notes and an excellent length in the mouth
The advice of 12bouteilles: Ready to drink, serve it chilled, between 10°C and 12°C. It will perfectly accompany a seafood platter.
Maison Drouhin produces wines in 90 appellations ranging from Bourgogne Aligoté to Grands Crus, and from Chablis to Mâconnais. This family business has been in Beaunes for about 130 years and operates 73 hectares of vineyards. Very involved in respect of the environment, working in organic agriculture and on biodynamic principles, Drouhin is one of the best producers in Burgundy. The particularity of the wines combines balance, harmony and character. The young wines have a subtle freshness, and with time they gain in complexity.
