Joseph Drouhin: Vosnes Romanée 2014
Burgundy - Vosnes-Romanée - Red Wine -Vosne-Romanée 2014 is a red wine 100% Pinot Noir produced by Joseph Drouhin, famous Burgundian house since 1880. The Gauls of the village of Vaona were recruited to serve 20 years in the troops of Emperor Caesar. He rewarded them by giving them vineyards, which were called "Romanée" by the following generations.
The vineyards were grown north of Nuits-Saint-Georges, this village is the jewel of the Côte de Nuits. It produces the most famous wines of Burgundy. As for all the wines of the House, absolute priority is given to the expression of the terroir to the respect of the vintage effect.
This 2014 vintage is adorned with a beautiful dress of intense red and bright. The nose is a complex and surprising nose with aromas of sour cherry, nutmeg, camphor wood, fine leather and truffles. On the palate, the balance is perfect between tannins and acidity, the finish is long and powerful.
A very harmonious richness, for a big Burgundy!
The advice of 12 bouteilles: A great wine to keep in cellar a few years. Serve it at a temperature of 16°C with a good beef filet.
