Domaine de Villaine : Bouzeron 2021
Burgundy - Bouzeron - White Wine -This Bouzeron 2020 is a sublime white wine of Burgundy produced by the Domaine de la Villaine. It is made from very old Aligoté vines located on the best slopes of the Bouzeron appellation. They were traditional of the so-called "golden" varieties which, as opposed to the so-called "green" types, give smaller yields and finer aromatic wines. It is a lively and fruity wine displaying a finesse and a "fullness" that is due to the authentic character of the terroir. Appreciate its freshness and "fruit" qualities by drinking it young, in its first two to three years. Then, with time, the wine becomes "fat", and round and has the potential to be kept for about ten years.
Tasting notes :
The robe: yellow with golden reflections
The nose: airy, lemony and floral
The palate: notes of green apple and almond well defined by fresh and non-aggressive acidity. Nice balance between roundness and saline minerality with some notes of wild herbs.
Located between the villages of Santenay in the Côte d'Or and Rully and Mercurey in the Côte Chalonnaise, the Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron. The first village of the Côte Chalonnaise south of Beaune, it is certified organic since 1986. The vines are cultivated on hillsides between 270 and 350 meters altitude. The thin soils with a high limestone content, of these hillsides, ensure good control of the yields and the warm microclimate favours the ripening of the grapes.
The advice of 12bouteilles: To be served around 12°C, it is a perfect wine as an aperitif or with seafood, fish and many kinds of cheese such as goat, cantal, Beaufort, parmesan and Roquefort.
