Champagne Bollinger R.D. 2004 with gift box
Historically, most Champagne Houses have kept a collection of old bottles for the enjoyment of some privileged visitors. These bottles are exceptionally disgorged very shortly before being tasted, so that the guests share this perfect moment where the wine offers an extraordinary freshness and a sumptuous aromatic expression. This is the audacity of Madame Bollinger who, realizing the grandeur of such wines, decided to offer the world the opportunity to experience this tasting experience, considered at the time as "the ultimate in French Champagne".
This unique vintage will be named Bollinger R.D. for "Recently Degrored" and its label will be the first in history to display a disgorging date.
Blend of 66% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay made from 16 vintage wines, of which 88% Grands Crus and 12% Premiers Crus, only the greatest vintages are raised to the rank of Bollinger RD The year 2004 has revealed over time a very nice aromatic potential and an extraordinary brilliance. The ripening time is extremely long, more than four times higher than the rules of the appellation. Bollinger R.D. is marketed only a few months after disgorgement, guaranteeing the remarkable freshness of the wine.
In a brilliant golden deep color, the nose opens on stewed fruits and dry with shades of sweet spices; then reveals notes of plum and candied orange. Generous, intense flavors of candied fruit and tart tatin express in a full and harmonious mouth.
The advice of 12bouteilles: To highlight its unique style, we advise you to serve Bollinger R.D. around 8 ° C. You can taste Bollinger R.D. within one year after the date of disgorgement; or let it reach another phase of aging. Bollinger R.D. sublimates the most refined dishes, such as rosé pigeon or roasted scallops.
