This champagne takes its name "Special Cuvée" from the British agent Georges Bollinger in 1911. He found the expression "Brut sans année" inappropriate for a champagne of such subtlety.
Coming from a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier, more than 85% of Grand and Premiers Crus vines are used to make this champagne. The maturation time in cellar is more than 2 times higher than the rules of the appellation
In a golden color, a distinctive sign of black grape varieties, this Champagne has a very fine bubble. The nose expresses a very beautiful aromatic complexity with aromas of ripe fruit and spices with notes of roasted apple, compote and peach.
The palate reveals a subtle combination of structure, length and liveliness with aromas of pear, brioche, spice and fresh nuts. A dense and subtle Bollinger style with fine bubbles like velvet.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Special Cuvée is to share for a moment of conviviality, simple and rich of sense. A champagne to offer to those we love, lovers of good things. To highlight its unique style, its bouquet, its aromas, we advise you to serve Special Cuvée between 10 and 12 ° C. You can enjoy it now, or choose to let it age in the cellar. This champagne from Bollinger House is perfect with fish, especially sushi and sashimi. It also goes well with shellfish, poultry and white meats.
