Testamatta 2018 - "Crazy Head" in Italian - is the best expression to describe Bibi Graetz: a positive, creative and passionate person. Through Testamatta is expressed the purity, minerality and transparency of Sangiovese, from old vines located at the top of hills characterized by very rocky soils. A Super Tuscan made from 100% Sangiovese, the result of a combination of tradition and creativity.

"The elegance of the Sangiovese variety is still the main character of Testamatta wine. This vintage shows how fresh, fruity Sangiovese can be on the one hand, elegant, long and persistent on the other. 2018 is rich in blackberries and blueberries, earthy notes, light mineral nuance.It has a pronounced intensity accompanied by silky and important tannins which give the wine a long finish.This Testamatta is persistent and rich in finesse, one of the greatest I have ever made ."

Vinification and Breeding:
The grapes chosen for the development of Testamatta come from the 5 best plots of the Estate: Vincigliata, Londa, Lamole, Montefili and Siena. Each plot is sub-divided, and manual harvesting takes place up to 8 times to ensure the perfect ripeness of the selected fruits.
These 5 old plots, (up to 80 years old for some), are located in different areas in Tuscany
Fermentation takes place naturally with indigenous yeasts in open barrels (225L) for the smallest plots with 6 punching down and manual pumping over per day. The aging continues in barrels for 22 months.

The advice of 12bouteilles: a magical wine, crowned with a 100/100 decanter! Unique at this price for such a great wine!
