Luigi Pira : Barolo Serralunga 2012
Piedmont - Barolo - Red Wine -The Barolo Serralunga 2012 from winemaker Luigi Pira, is a jewel whose value is absolutely extraordinary for a Barolo! This red wine comes from a DOCG (Domain of Controlled Origin and Guarantee), the highest Italian qualification in wine. The name Serralunga is one of the most famous and sought-after local appellations of Barolo whose other producers are also essential in Piedmont wines (Gaja, Elio Altare, ...)
This Barolo 100% made from Nébbiolo grape and aged in wood vats for at least 24 months, has been rated above 90 by critic Robert Parker (91/100) and Wine Spectator magazine (93/100)
It is a wine in which elegance and power blend perfectly. A garnet red color with orange highlights, the nose revealing fresh leather notes and fine spices, its round palate, well balanced between tannins and acidity develops along the length.
The advice of 12bouteilles: A wine that we can only advise you as its price is still moderate, one of the must have of your cellar. A quality-price ratio 5 *!
