"The dress is a brilliant pale yellow.
The nose: both floral and complex is characterized by notes of white lilac, white rose. After aeration the fruity aromas develop towards intense notes of hazelnut and toasted almond. See same, white truffle, citron, honey, nutmeg
In the mouth: full with a beautiful vivacity, great richness and a breathtaking structure."
Le Clos des Mouches Premier Cru Blanc is a rare Beaune wine from the famous Maison Joseph Drouhin. It reveals the complexity and elegance of a Bâtard-Montrachet, harmoniously combined with the fullness of a Corton-Charlemagne.
The wine comes from plots of Chardonnay whose average age of the vines reaches 40 years, are planted on a plot at mid-slope, gently sloping located in the extreme south of the Beaune appellation, near Pommard. Facing east/south-east over 14 hectares, it is the largest parcel of this cru, divided equally between red and white.
This 1er Cru is a 100% Chardonnay monovarietal, the king of Burgundy whites. Cultivation is carried out in biodynamics.
Clos des Mouches de Drouhin is also available in red.
The advice of 12bouteilles: To consume between 5 and 30 years. It will be perfect served with shellfish, oysters, a seafood platter. We also love it as an accompaniment to mild poultry or on a hard cheese.
