Languedoc - Minervois - Red Wine -Villa Mon Rêve is a small, idyllic parcel where the syrah grape brings out the best in a full-bodied, long, complex and concentrated wine.
The 2020 vintage of Villa Mon Rêve is a magnificent bottle
The colour is a deep, intense garnet red with hints of violet.
On the nose, this highly complex Syrah reveals itself on a first nose that is rich and powerful, with notes of caramel and black cherry. The second nose is exceptionally fresh, with notes of cedar and flowers. After opening, this wine also releases heady notes of cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla pod and pepper.
The palate is marked by exceptional freshness, supple tannins and fine, subtle aromas indicative of masterful ageing. In total harmony with the nose, the palate also opens up to aromas of liquorice, garrigue and fresh blackcurrant. The finish is long, delicate and delicious. Aromas of cocoa prolong the tasting experience.
The blend for the 2020 vintage is 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache.
The wines were aged for 20 months in 2,000-litre oak tuns.
The wines were bottled without fining or filtration.
Before being marketed, the wines were left in the cellar for 12 months after bottling.
"Villa Mon Rêve" is the name of our little vineyard house at the end of the Combe in La Livinière (Minervois). The people of the village have told us this beautiful story... The first owner of the vineyard had this house built to offer his ailing wife a place to convalesce in a natural setting. The dream became reality when, to his great delight, she recovered. As a token, they named their home "Villa Mon Rêve"... A little paradise where dreams become possible.
The advice of 12Bouteilles: Open this beautiful bottle at least 2 hours before serving. It goes perfectly with grilled red meat, a cheese platter or even as an aperitif with a charcuterie platter.
