Tasting notes:
The color: beautiful garnet color, intense and deep
The nose: the bouquet reveals aromas of red fruits, mainly strawberries, associated with spicy and vanilla notes.
The palate: The palate is illustrated by its fullness and power with fine tannins, extended by a pleasant fruity length and a finish with spicy accents.
The 12Bouteilles advice : Ideally served between 15 and 16°C, this wine goes perfectly with poultry supremes or a lamb mignon with herbs. It is recommended to decant it when it is still young and has an aging potential of 10 to 15 years.
The Pommard Clos Blanc 2021 from Domaine Albert Grivault is a Premier Cru made exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape variety (100%). The harvest is completely destemmed, and the use of new barrels is limited. Bottling takes place after aging for 18 months in barrels.
The term “Clos Blanc” alludes to the color of the wine once made by monks. Currently vinified in Pinot Noir, its name may seem curious. Its soils are made up of sandy clays and stony clays located at the bottom of the coast.
The estate is currently under the management of Michel Bardet, grandson of Albert Grivault, who benefits from the support of his daughter, Claire. Covering an area of 6 hectares, the family estate is mainly distributed between three appellations in Meursault. In addition, Domaine Albert Grivault also has a plot in the Pommard appellation.
With Clos des Perrières, Domaine Albert Grivault has the largest climat in Meursault, which it operates under a monopoly. This plot is demarcated by a 2 meter high wall, thus offering protection against cold winds. The full South/South-East exposure ensures optimal sunshine for the vines.
Recognized for the prestigious Clos des Perrières, this estate is undoubtedly one of the references of the Meursault appellation. Michel Bardet, as a winemaker, stands out for creating wines intended for aging.
