Château Croix-Mouton is located on the right bank of the Dordogne, west of Fronsac on the island of Carney. Since 1997, Château Croix-Mouton has been owned by the Janoueix family, which also owns Château Haut-Sarpe in Saint-Emilion and La Croix Saint-Georges in Pomerol. The vineyard of La Croix-Mouton covers 19 hectares, planted on clay and alluvial soils. The grape varieties present are Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The estate produces gourmet and fine wines, very fruity, with silky tannins such as CHATEC CROIX-MOUTON 2014, a fresh, balanced and harmonious red. The estate’s wines come from the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation. The wines of the Bordeaux area qualified superior ““ meet a more stringent specifications such as a breeding of 12 months minimum in barrels, lower yields and an alcohol level higher than 10%.
