Tasting notes :
Colour : a sublime garnet-red colour.
Nose : The bouquet is seductive, revealing bewitching notes of peony and violet, as well as delicate aromas of cherry, raspberry and sweet spices.
Palate : The silky texture of this wine on the palate is reminiscent of real lace, offering a generous body that is both broad and long, with perfectly ripe tannins. The finish is balanced and highly complex, with a bewitching persistence.
The 12bouteilles advice : Ideally served at 16°C, Marsannay Clos du Roy de Pataille goes perfectly with a delicious pigeon stuffed with grapes and a Robuchon purée. This wine can be enjoyed from now until 2030.
Marsannay Clos du Roy 2021 is made exclusively from Pinot Noir (100%) and comes from the most prestigious parcel in Marsannay.
The Pinot grape is distinguished by its finesse, delicacy and minerality. Natural vinification is followed by ageing in new barrels on fine lees (around 30%) for 15 to 18 months.
The story of Domaine Sylvain Pataille is the story of a man who has been passionate about the world of wine since his youth. As a consultant oenologist, Sylvain Pataille took the decision in 1999 to lease a hectare of vines, with the ambition of creating Burgundy wines that express the potential and nuances of the Marsannay appellation with elegance and authenticity.
Between 2000 and 2011, the estate's surface area grew from 2 to 4 hectares, marking the permanent installation of Sylvain Pataille at the estate in 2011. The estate then grew to 10 hectares in 2002. Today, Domaine Sylvain Pataille oversees a 17-hectares vineyard, which has been organically farmed since 2008 under Ecocert certification.
Sylvain attaches great importance to maturing the wines in oak barrels and ensuring that they are of the highest possible quality. The top-of-the-range wines are distinguished by their exceptional freshness, finesse and elegance.
