Burgundy - Morey-Saint-Denis - 1er Cru - Red Wine -Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru les Ruchots 2019 from Domaine Pierre Amiot is one of the signature cuvées of this emblematic area of the Cote de Nuits. Obviously 100% Pinot Noir, this vintage comes from 55-year-old vines.
The 52-acre plot is located on places called Les Ruchots which is just below the Clos de Tart. It is produced at 2,500 bottles per vintage only. Morey-Saint-Denis is an AOC located on the Burgundy Grands Crus route, between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny along the Côte de Nuits.
This Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru 2019 is a real nugget so close to the grands crus of the Côte de Nuits.
Tasting note:
Color: ruby to garnet.
Nose: aromas of red fruits with jammy notes.
Taste examination: balanced, this wine is concentrated, silky and "full" (fat, roundness ...)
Food and wine pairing:
This wine goes very well with grilled red meats, white meats. We can even, on very "ripe" vintages, try out a little out of the ordinary pairings; on a chocolate dessert for example. It is best enjoyed between 14 ° C and 16 ° C. Wait 5 to 10 years in great vintages before you can appreciate it.

"Ruchots" designates a place that contains rocks that are called "roiches" in patois.
Terroir
The vineyard is exposed to the east, south-east levant, at an altitude of 260m. It rests on limestone soils with rocks, marls, red silt and gravel. Les Ruchots are located to the south of the village, on the border with Chambolle, under the Clos de Tart and the Bonnes Mares. The plot is sheltered from cold winds and benefits from a microclimate which brings good maturity. Here the plants give a lot of small grapes.
