Domaine Justin Girardin : Santenay "Vieilles Vignes" 2021
Burgundy - Santenay - Red Wine -This Santenay "Vieilles Vignes" red 2021 is a red wine produced by Domaine Justin Girardin. Made from old vines of about 50 years old, this 100% Pinot Noir comes from several parcels: one in the lower part of the Bievaux, one on the Clos Genet and one in the climate Sous la Roche. These three parcels on three different climates do not have the same terroir but have similar characteristics. First of all, the southeast exposure and then a clayey-limestone soil with a dominant clay content which remains relatively thin in comparison to certain Premier Crus. By blending the wine from these different parcels we get a wine rich in fruity aromas while in harmony with the woodiness of the vinification.

Present in Burgundy since 1570, Justin Girardin represents today the 13th generation at the head of the family estate of 17 hectares, from Santenay to Savigny-Les-Beaune. Each parcel produces a different wine with its own identity. Vigilant to the well-being of his vines, Justin and his teams work in Biodynamics, and intervene only in good time for the maintenance of the vineyard in the logic of healthy agriculture and always more respectful of its environment.
The advice of 12bouteilles: To be served between 16°C and 18°C, it will perfectly accompany red and white meats or game birds. Avoid too strong sauces which can mask the aromas. It can be drunk now and can be kept for 4 to 5 years.
