A wine that illustrates the specificity of the appellation , resting on its clay-limestone soils, with all its richness and finesse. Definitely a great Loire wine.
For the first time, the Les Closiers cuvée was (partly) aged in barrels (around 30% of the wine, the rest in stainless steel tanks as in previous years). This 8-month ageing was intended to soften the tannins, given that the juices are particularly concentrated.
Dress: a beautiful red color
Nose: reveals fruity aromas
Mouth: we find a fruity, greedy wine blending race and delicacy with accuracy and precision.
Nady Foucault (Clos Rougeard) advises the domaine in the elaboration of its first vintages with a perfect price/pleasure ratio. A domaine coup de coeur that will undoubtedly be one of the reference domains of Saumur Champigny in a few years.
The Domaine des Closiers is committed to developing biodiversity, and this work has been rewarded with the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE 3) label. The vines are protected, without pesticides or insecticides, and harvested entirely by hand.
