Château Thivin : Les Griottes de Brulhié 2022
Beaujolais - Côte de Brouilly - Red Wine -In this 2022 vintage, this Les Griottes de Brulhié cuvée from Château Thivin shows remarkable power, expressed by an intense density of flavour. Because of the relatively modest yields in 2021, they were bottled a little quickly. Some of these wines will need a little patience to reach full maturity and develop their character, offering a cellaring period of at least five to ten years.
Tasting notes :
Colour : red with purplish tints
Nose : aromas of flowers (violet, peony) and fruit.
Palate : luscious and generous. The finish is long and peppery, with silky tannins.
The 12bouteilles advice : Serve between 14°C and 16°C. It goes perfectly with a rib of beef, duck breast or pigeon to appreciate all its flavour. We recommend decanting when young.
Château Thivin "Les Griottes de Brulhié" 2021 is a sublime red wine from the Côte de Brouilly appellation, produced by Château Thivin. It is made from gamay grapes grown on a parcel halfway up the slope on the south side of the hill, in a place called "Brulhié". The soil is shallow and lies on "pierres Bleues", a magmatic volcanic rock also known as Metadiorite.
Château Thivin is one of the oldest estates in the Beaujolais region, in the Côte de Brouilly appellation, and is located in Odenas. Since 1743, the Geoffray family has passed on from generation to generation its passion for the winegrowing profession, its respect for the terroir, its invaluable know-how and its quest for excellence.
Today, the 5th and 6th generations of the Geoffray family run this small family business, working the estate's vines and vinifying each wine in keeping with its original terroir, as the seasons change. The estate's vineyards are mainly located on the Crus, Côte-de-Brouilly and Brouilly, but they also produce white, rosé and effervescent Beaujolais cuvées from the most magnificent Beaujolais vineyards.
