Château La Lagune 2011

Bordeaux - Haut Médoc - 3e Cru Classé - Red Wine -

Château La Lagune 2011 is a 3rd Cru Classé of 1855 of Haut Médoc appellation. The property is now owned and managed by Caroline Frey, a talented oenologist who also heads the Paul Jaboulet Ainé Domaines in the Rhône Valley.

Made from a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, this 2011 Château La Lagune has a dark color with almost black reflections. On the nose we discover aromas of vanilla and black fruits. On the palate, the tannins are present and support a nice presence of fruits and notes of wood.

After the fantastic 2009 and 2010 vintages of the Château, the 2011 vintage is one of the great successes of the appellation. It can be tasted now and for about ten years.

The advice of 12bouteilles: Do not hesitate to decant 1 hour before tasting, it will be perfect to accompany autumn dishes such as a prune roast and fried mushrooms.
