Rioja - Red Wine -Bodega Muga "Special Selection" 2018 is a great wine from Rioja produced by Bodega Muga.
From a blend of Tempranillo / Garnacha / Mazuelo / Graciano it is a real nugget. One of the best value for money in La Rioja which reflects all the know-how of the Bodega.
This Muga Selección Especial 2018 wine has a rich, deep, black cherry colour and robe.
A highly intense nose, in which notes of ripe fruit such as blackberries appear, complemented by spicy aromas of clove and vanilla coming through, giving a lot of complexity.
On the palate it has a marked, well-integrated acidity, well-polished tannins and medium body. Very silky and elegant, with ripe fruit notes reappearing with hints of well-integrated wood. Very long and balanced.
A Reserva whose good acidity and tannin suggest great ageing potential.
The wines are aged 26 months in new French oak barrel made at the Bodega. After Bottling the wines are matured 18 months in the cellar before being offered.
2018 is recognized as an excellent year for Rioja wines. Complex and perfectly balanced, the wines are absolutely delicious.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Drink now and over the next 5/7 years. Serve it chilled at 16-18 ° C and open it at least one hour before tasting. This wine goes well with all Spanish dishes: hams, cheeses, tapas!
