Bodega Contador : Predicador 2014
Rioja - Red Wine -Predicador 2014 is one of the gems of the Bodega Contador in La Rioja.
The Bodega Contador is the personal project of Benjamín Romeo, one of the star winemakers in the region, whose Cuvée Contador has been awarded 100/100 by critic R.Parker two consecutive vintages in 2004 and 2005, a real feat!
Predicador is made from Tempranillo, Grenache Rouge and Viura grape varieties. The grapes come from vineyards that are between 20 and 35 years old, and from 12 different plots. To prepare this great wine, the grapes ferment in oak barrels and in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 19-24ºC for 7-10 days.
Finally, after vinification, Predicador aged for 16 months in French oak barrels.
An affordable vintage, perfect for discovering the fabulous wines of Benjamin Romeo.
Predicador is a complex wine of great finesse. Its harmonious and unctuous mouth seduces us with its balance.
This 2014 vintage was rated 92/100 by R.Parker who noted "intense aromas ... very fine structure ... Supremely balanced", he added " the words can hardly do justice to the singularity of the wines of Benjamin Romeo ... they must be tasted to be raw "
