The Pian delle Vigne estate is located 6 km west of the town of Montalcino and comprises 184 hectares, of which 65 hectares are planted with vines facing southwest, at an altitude of 130 meters above sea level. The estate has belonged to the Antinori family since 1995, the year of the first vintage of Brunello Pian delle Vigne.
The Antinori wineries, run by Piero Antinori, in the Chianti region are among the most famous wines in Tuscany. It is a dynasty of winemakers for 26 generations, the historic heart of the operation is the Palazzo Antinori in Florence. The Antinori family is a member of the Primum Familiae Vini, a group of the 12 best producers in the world, including the French, Perrin, Hugel, Mouton Rothschild, and Joseph Drouhin.
