Mâcon-Igé
Les vins de Mâcon-Igé
- Bourgogne-
The Mâcon-Igé appellation is a prestigious appellation of white wines produced in the Burgundy wine region. Located in the department of Saône-et-Loire, the appellation covers an area of nearly 300 hectares. The wines are mainly made from the Chardonnay grape variety, which is grown on clay-limestone soils rich in shell fossils.
The wines of Mâcon-Igé are known for their elegance and finesse, as well as for their fresh and fruity character. They offer aromatic notes of white flowers, peach and citrus, with a subtle touch of minerality. They can be enjoyed young, but can also be aged in the cellar for several years, giving them added complexity.
