Château Poujeaux 2022 is one of the historic benchmarks of the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation. Known for its consistency and precision, the estate benefits from outstanding deep gravel soils mixed with clay and sand, located near the Margaux border. The well-controlled 2022 vintage delivers a dense, elegant and beautifully balanced wine.
Appearance: deep garnet with purple highlights, brilliant.
Nose: expressive and precise, revealing blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, complemented by violet, graphite, fine spices and subtle oak.
Palate: broad and structured, with a dense yet fluid core supported by ripe, fine and silky tannins. Natural freshness brings balance and length to a long, elegant and persistent finish.
The vineyards of Château Poujeaux lie on deep gravel mounds typical of the Médoc, ensuring excellent drainage and even ripening. The 2022 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a touch of Petit Verdot, delivering structure, finesse and aromatic complexity.
Parcel-by-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled vats with precise macerations to preserve fruit purity and tannin finesse. Aged in French oak barrels with a carefully managed proportion of new oak, seamlessly integrated.
Perfect with grilled or roasted red meats, beef fillet, rack of lamb, sauced dishes or aged cheeses. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for 1–2 hours when young.
Château Poujeaux 2022 is a benchmark Moulis-en-Médoc combining depth, elegance and consistency. Enjoyable now with aeration, it will age gracefully gaining complexity and refinement.
