Château Margaux 2012

Bordeaux - Margaux - 1er Cru Classé - Red Wine -

Château Margaux obviously holds its 1er Cru Classé rank of Médoc with wines of great finesse and complexity.

This Château Margaux 2012 is one of the great successes of the vintage, it is one of the great wines best rated by critics in this 2012 vintage.

2012 marks the return to a great climatic classicism: a cold winter, especially in February, followed a very wet spring, then a very dry summer before the return of rainy weather from September 20.

Château Margaux 2012 is a great vintage, finally not so far from 2010. It has even more power, at least the same purity, the same balance, the same charm; a little less depth perhaps. It is in any case a nice step above the 2011.

Tasting note:
Appearance: Deep red
The nose: a tense, linear bouquet infused with pencil lead with pure blackberry scents
The palate: medium-bodied with fine tannins, lively acidity, an invigorating sense of balance with well-integrated new oak on the finish.

The advice of 12bouteilles: Serve it with meat or foie gras. Serve around 16 ° -18 ° C, decant it at least 2 hours before tasting so that it regains its fullness.
