Château Léoville Barton 2013

Bordeaux - Saint-Julien - 2e Cru Classé - Red Wine -

Château Léoville Barton is one of the great successes of the 2013 vintage, which is considered difficult in Bordeaux. It is an accessible Saint Julien appreciated by connoisseurs.

This 2013 vintage has a beautiful dark robe, a nose of black fruits supported by marine notes. In the mouth, the wines are medium-bodied, the tannins are ripe, sublimated by a nice acidity and an elegant finish.

Robert Parker salutes here a solid show in a difficult vintage. 90/100 pts

The advice of 12bouteilles: The 2013 vintage of Château Léoville Barton is almost ready to drink (2016), 2 years in cellars and you will love to associate it with a red meat or a piece of Duck.

About the Château:

With this Second Cru Classé of Saint Julien, we are in the quintessence of the Saint Julien appellation. Mr. Anthony Barton worked tirelessly to restore a name and a wine that rested somewhat on their laurels. You will find 3 grape varieties in this bottle: a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon then Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The property consists of old vines over 40 years old that give rise to rich and concentrated grapes.

The vinification is placed under the sign of the tradition and the modernity with a parcel processing and a regulation of the temperatures in wooden vats. The farms are made in oak barrels with more than half of new wood.
