Tasting Notes
Appearance: deep garnet with purple highlights, brilliant.
Nose: clean, refined and expressive, showing blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, complemented by cedar, graphite, fine spices and subtle toasty oak.
Palate: broad and finely chiseled. Dense yet remarkably refined, supported by ripe, velvety, well-integrated tannins. Pauillac freshness brings lift and length to a persistent, elegant and balanced finish.
Terroir & Blend
Carruades de Lafite comes from parcels located in Pauillac, on deep, well-drained gravel soils that promote even ripening and aromatic precision. The 2022 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and, depending on the lot, a touch of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, adding structure, complexity and finesse.
Winemaking & Aging
Hand-harvested grapes with meticulous sorting. Parcel-by-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled vats, with carefully managed macerations to preserve fruit purity and tannin finesse. Aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new oak, seamlessly integrated to support structure without masking terroir expression.
Food Pairings
Perfect with grilled or roasted red meats, dry-aged beef, rack of lamb, duck breast, game or refined sauced dishes. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for 1–2 hours when young.
