Tasting Notes
Appearance: deep garnet with violet highlights, dense and brilliant.
Nose: intense and precise, revealing blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, complemented by graphite, cedar, blond tobacco, fine spices and subtle smoky notes.
Palate: straight and structured, with a dense, compact core supported by firm, ripe and perfectly defined tannins. Pauillac freshness brings tension and length to a long, refined and persistent finish.
Terroir & Blend
The vineyards of Château Grand-Puy-Ducasse are spread across several prime parcels in Pauillac, lying on deep Garonne gravel soils ensuring excellent drainage and even ripening. The 2022 blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, delivering structure, verticality and long aging capacity.
Winemaking & Aging
Hand-harvested grapes with meticulous sorting. Traditional vinification with long, carefully managed macerations to extract noble tannins without hardness. Aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new oak, seamlessly integrated.
Food Pairings
Perfect with roasted or grilled red meats, dry-aged beef, rack of lamb, game or refined gastronomic dishes. Serve at 60–64 °F (16–18 °C). Decant for about 2 hours when young.
