Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2022 stands as one of the highlights of the vintage in Saint-Julien. Classified as a Second Growth in 1855, the estate benefits from legendary deep gravel soils along the Gironde estuary, producing wines that combine power, refinement and extraordinary longevity. The 2022 vintage delivers a masterful expression: intense, precise and remarkably fresh despite the warmth of the year.
Appearance: deep, luminous purple.
Nose: pure and complex with blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry, graphite, violet, cedar, fine spices and elegant smoky notes.
Palate: broad, structured and beautifully sculpted. Powerful yet exquisitely fine-grained tannins, dense core balanced by vibrant freshness, and a long, deep, refined finish.
Exceptional Garonne gravel terroir with optimal drainage and thermal regulation from the Gironde. Blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, bringing structure, elegance and aging potential.
Hand-harvested grapes, multiple sorting stages and precise parcel-by-parcel vinification. Long aging in French oak barrels with a carefully calibrated proportion of new oak to refine structure while preserving terroir expression.
Perfect with roasted beef, rib-eye steak, lamb, game, truffle dishes or aged cheeses. Serve at 60–63°F (16–17°C). Decant for 1–2 hours when young.
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2022 is a monumental Saint-Julien, both powerful and refined. Superb today with aeration, it will evolve magnificently over 30–40 years.
