Vega Sicilia : Alion 2019
Castille y Leon - Ribera del Douero - Red Wine -Alion 2019, wine made from 100% Tinto fino whose vines are over 30 years old. The 2018 vintage was a real challenge, initially late due to the cool spring, the vintage is marked by dry and hot days in the summer. Just before the harvest, a rainfall puts this vintage in the very big ones of the estate.
Vega Sicilia Alion is a label that we appreciate very much, a rare wine, a very great Spanish wine accessible and unavoidable.
Considered today as one of the greatest wine producers of Spain, Vega Sicilia exists since the 19th century with the Alvarez family at its head. Located in the north of Castilla y León, in the wine production area of DO Ribera del Duero and DO Toro, further south in the province.
Tasting note:
The dress: is adorned with a beautiful intense garnet red color with ruby reflections.
The nose: reveals power, with a touch of blackberry, accompanied by mineral and graphite nuances.
The palate: juicy and round but not heavy, the truffle and humus remain present on the palate with a slightly closed attack, which gradually opens up in the glass. A great wine without any doubt.
12bouteilles advice: Serve around 18°C, enjoy it with charcuterie or lamb.
