Clos Fourtet 2004
Clos Fourtet ... called in the Middle Ages "Camp Fourtet", was a fortified place, intended to protect the city of Saint-Emilion. The tranquility has now been installed and the estate has kept its stone walls that make the castle walled, giving it a special atmosphere. We can not speak of Clos Fourtet without mentioning its unique terroir, but also its cellars cut in the limestone of the basement which provided the noble material to the buildings of Saint-Emilion. It is in these cellars, which constitute the true sanctuary of the estate, that the wine continues for 12 months its aging in oak barrels stored near the venerable vials of the Château reserve.
