Tenuta San Guido: Sassicaia 2014

Toscana - Super Toscan - Red Wine -

Sassicaia is an Italian red wine from the estate Tenuta San Guido located in Tuscany on the Bolgueri appellation. Lovers of the great Bordeaux, the aristocrat and the race horse breeder Mario Incisa della Rochetta plants, in the 1930s, Cabernet vines, near the small hamlet of Bolgheri, in the hope of obtaining a similar wine in the vineyards of the left bank.

Sassicaia 2014 is made from an 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc blend, its color is relatively pale and limpid. Its nose offers a beautiful aromatic quality with lily, violet, blackcurrant and cherry flavors. On the palate, the palate releases a delicious acidity, shiny and sweet. The structure is almost Burgundian and the tannins are melted. This delicate wine has aromas of young raspberries and red berries with notes of salty graphite and violet. The finish is precise and persistent.

The advice of 12bouteilles: This Italian gems can be kept a decade in the cellar but is also appreciated young. For a perfect match, enjoy it with an osso bucco.
