This is another vintage of the star wine of the Aconcagua Valley. Blended wine from the 42-hectare hillside vineyard of Seña, on colluvial soils on the slopes of the valley.
The 2020 vintage in Chile is absolutely beautiful, a perfect reflection of the warm weather conditions and cool winds from the Pacific coast. It is an extraordinary wine rated 97/100 by Robert Parker and 98/100 by James Suckling.
The blend consists of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carnemere, 25% Malbec and 7% Petit Verdot. The wines are aged 22 months in 90% new French oak and 10% Foudre.
Tasting notes:
The robe: is adorned with a beautiful deep violet red color
Nose: aromas of fresh red fruits such as cherries and raspberries accompanied by violets and pleasant touches of dill and rosemary, all framed by light notes of sweet spices.
The palate: young fruit, softer spices and soft balsamic tones. It is fresh and juicy with elegant, fine-grained tannins that create a silky, pleasant feel. Seña's 2020 vintage shows elegance and balance with a full, deep finish.
Once again, Chile's most iconic wine is very well balanced in a rather warm vintage, with lots of freshness, acidity and impressive tension.
