In this 2021 vintage, Saint Patrice shines as a beautiful expression of the Côtes du Rhône appellation. From exceptional terroirs of gravelly subsoils, red clay and sandstone covered with pebbles and rolled stones, it reflects the perfect harmony of the parcels Les Champauvins, Le Coudoulet and Boisfeuillet.
Appearance: Deep ruby with bright garnet highlights.
Nose: Rich and enticing, combining ripe red fruits, spicy notes and a hint of licorice.
Palate: Broad and elegant, with a fine, well-structured frame. Silky tannins are supported by refreshing acidity, enhancing flavors of cherry, plum and black pepper. A harmonious and promising wine.
Blended from Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre and Syrah, the Saint Patrice 2021 was partially vinified with whole clusters (around 40%), followed by a 5-week maceration in concrete vats. Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, it shows polished structure and aromatic depth while retaining the natural freshness of the fruit.
Careful vineyard management, from winter pruning to the October harvest, ensured precise phenolic ripeness. Elegant and subtle, this cuvée reflects both the skill of the estate and the richness of its terroir.
12bouteilles’ advice: Decant 1 to 2 hours before serving to release its full aromatic complexity. Perfect with roasted meats, hearty stews or game. With 10 years of cellaring potential, Saint Patrice 2021 will gain further finesse and harmony over time.
