Maury Tuilé Hors d'Âge from the Terres de Fagayra estate is a naturally sweet wine of great nobility, produced using a long oxidative ageing process that gives it depth, complexity and remarkable finesse. Produced in the heart of Roussillon, this Maury Tuilé embodies the tradition of great Mediterranean oxidative wines, combining aromatic richness, freshness and elegance. Made from old Macabeu and Grenache Gris vines planted on schist soils in Roussillon. Fortification on the grapes, followed by prolonged oxidative ageing in an un-topped-up environment, allowing the wine to develop its complex aromatic palette and signature rancio character.
Tasting notes:
Colour: deep amber with coppery highlights.
Nose: intense and complex, revealing notes of candied fruit, cocoa and sweet spices.
Palate: full-bodied and silky, perfectly balanced. The sweetness is mellow and carried by a beautiful freshness. Aromas of prunes, dried figs and coffee. Very long, warm and persistent finish.
12bouteilles advice: Ideal with blue cheeses, pan-fried foie gras or simply on its own as a meditation wine. Serving temperature: 12–14°C. Maury Tuilé Hors d'Âge – Terres de Fagayra is a great wine that requires time and patience. Already beautifully expressive, it can be kept for many years without fear, gaining even more depth and complexity.
