Barossa Valley - Red Wine -The initials RWT stand for "Red Winemaking Trial", of course today it is no longer a "trial". RWT Shiraz Bin 798 was launched in the 2000s by Penfolds.
Its style is opulent and fleshy, and its aging in French oak barrels marks a significant difference from Grange.
This RWT Bin 798 Shiraz 2022 has nothing to envy its predecessors, it is a wine from the Barossa Valley and is made from fruit that is mainly selected for its aromatic qualities and soft texture.
Tasting the 2023 vintage
The color is a beautiful, deep, purple-red color, bright and polished.
The nose reveals an aromatic bouquet of black fruits such as blueberry and blackberry, with hints of chocolate, hazelnut, and licorice.
The palate is balanced, deep, and persistent, with aromas of black fruits and a nice acidity. The tannins are silky, providing a smooth and long texture.
The aging was done in French oak barrels (69% new, 31% from a wine) for 14 months
The advice of 12 bottles: A wine with good ageing potential, to be drunk or kept in the cellar until 2050, it will go perfectly with a duck breast
