The Ermitage "Les Greffieux" 2015 cuvée illustrates the magic of the Hermitage hill, interpreted by Michel Chapoutier. Farmed biodynamically, this plot selection is known for being the most fleshy of the estate. The exceptional and solar 2015 vintage delivers an anthological Syrah: opulent, voluptuous, and endowed with dizzying aromatic depth.
Appearance: Opaque, deep black color with intense garnet highlights.
Nose: Explosive and bewitching. Black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), tapenade, licorice, and black pepper, highlighted by smoky notes.
Palate: Broad, pulpy, and velvety. A fleshy substance carried by ripe and smooth tannins. Endless and spicy finish.
This 100% Syrah comes from the "Les Greffieux" lieu-dit. Its soil, composed of terraces of rolled pebbles, gives the wine its opulent character. Certified in Biodynamic Agriculture.
Destemmed harvest. Vinification in concrete vats with long maceration. Aged for 14 to 18 months in oak casks (approx. 30% new) to polish the tannic power.
This Grand Cru will perfectly enhance game dishes (venison, hare), truffle beef tournedos, or roasted pigeon.
A monumental wine with tremendous aging potential. To enjoy it today, decanting for 2 to 3 hours is imperative. Serve at 16-18°C.
