M.Chapoutier - Ermitage « Le Pavillon » 2008

Rhone Valley - Hermitage - Red Wine -

In this 2008 vintage, this Ermitage is ready to drink, although it can be kept for many more years in your cellar. It is a bottle that impressed us during a tasting in 2022.

Le Pavillon is a red wine from the Maison M.Chapoutier, produced in the most prestigious appellation of the Rhône, Ermitage.

This Ermitage is made from 100% Syrah grapes from centuries-old vines, of high quality and cultivated in the respect of biodynamic culture.

Le Pavillon is adorned with an intense and deep dress of red color with purplish reflections.

The nose, tarred and smoked, releases aromas of raspberry, blackberry, walnut and liquorice.

On the palate, the attack is powerful and complex, with a nice balance. The tannins are velvety with flavors of liquorice, tobacco and cocoa bringing a long finish.

Wine Advocate-Parker : 93/100
The most concentrated 2008 Ermitage is Le Pavillon (915 cases). Backward as well as elegant, it offers up scents of blueberries, blackberries, camphor, black truffles and earth. The wine is medium to full-bodied, moderately tannic and, atypically, capable of lasting 20-25+ years.

The advice of 12bouteilles: "Le Pavillon" is an exceptional vintage, to be kept in the cellar for 30 to 60 years.
