Beaujolais - Morgon - Red Wine -In this cuvée "les Strates", the 2023 Morgon Côtes du Py from Maison Trenel is an ambitious and characterful expression of Beaujolais, drawing its strength from the deep layers of the terroir. The name “Les Strates” evokes the geology of the soil: layers of granite, schist, and decomposed granite that give this wine its unique structure and minerality. From old, deeply rooted vines, the Gamay grapes ripen slowly, benefiting from a microclimate that balances cool nights with generous daytime sunshine.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep garnet hue with bright violet highlights, dense yet luminous.
The nose unfolds gracefully with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and stewed plum, enhanced by violet and sweet spice notes. After a few moments, earthy nuances, graphite, and hints of garrigue emerge, reflecting the depth of the terroir.
