In this Côte de Nuits cuvée, the Gevrey-Chambertin 2022 from the Maison Louis Latour reveals a brilliant and refined interpretation of a great red Burgundy wine, crafted from Pinot Noir. Here is our tasting note:
Appearance: deep, intense ruby red.
Nose: complex and expressive, offering notes of licorice, clove, and delicate smoky nuances.
Palate: ample, round, and elegant, with flavors of roasted coffee and mocha. The tannins are silky, giving the wine a beautiful structure and finesse.
The Gevrey-Chambertin 2022 is made from Pinot Noir grown on clay-limestone soils, with an average vine age of 30 years. The yield is limited to 40 hl/ha and harvesting is done manually. Traditional fermentation takes place in open vats with complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new, produced by Louis Latour’s own cooperage.
With its aromatic intensity, roundness, and elegance, this Gevrey-Chambertin 2022 is a true classic of the Côte de Nuits, perfect for lovers of structured and refined wines.
12bouteilles' Tip: Serve at 14–15°C. Perfect with hare stew (civet de lièvre), venison fillet with Grand Veneur sauce, or matured cheeses such as Époisses. A superb wine to enjoy now or to cellar for 3 to 5 years.
