Luigi Pira : Dolcetto d'Alba 2016
This red wine is an area of controlled origin (DOC) of the municipality of Alba, produced only on certain parcels of the highest quality. Made from 100% Dolcetto grape varieties in their thirties, these vines are planted in the Piedmont hills between the Alps and the Venetian plains.
The vinification of Dolcetto d'Alba takes place in horizontal fermentation at controlled temperature for about 6/7 days. Aging lasts 8/9 months in steel tanks.
This 2016 vintage has an intense ruby red color with violet hues. The nose is young, fresh, with fruity and floral tones. In the mouth, the attack is harmonious with persistent flavors. The finish is long and complex.
Delicious and affordable, this vintage is one of our favorites in every vintage!
The advice of 12bouteilles: Perfect as an appetizer wine, this Italian gem is also ideal with a good beef tartare.
