Louis Roederer Vintage Vintage White White is a vintage elaborated in the vintages of exceptions. 100% Chardonnay, the vintage white Blanc de Blanc is aged at least 5 years on lees to be proposed to its perfect maturity.
"The 2010 vintage is remarkably fine with notes of hazelnuts, almonds and white flowers," according to Jean Baptiste Lécaillon, cellar chef at Roederer.
In Champagne the Millésime 2010 is a cool and full year of contrasts marked by a particularly cold winter with heavy frosts, followed by a spring and early summer fresh and dry. Sudden reversal of trend in August and September, very wet and wet, which will complicate the ripening of the grapes at the end of the course. Only the few south or very low grape exposures will reach a satisfactory maturity. 2010 is a contrasted vintage between the fragility of Pinots, sorted with extreme rigor, and the triumph of some great Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs!
Tasting note: Golden yellow color with slightly green hues. Subtle and melted effervescence. Intense bouquet of yellow fruits (mirabelle, tart mango), candied lemon, flowers (mimosa) and pastries. A slight agitation gives rise to notes of sugared almond powder, white vanilla-flavored chocolate and baked apple.
We expect a continuation on matter and volume but it is not so. In fact, the opposite is true: the wave recedes, revealing the precision, the purity and the chalky, mineral freshness of the great Chardonnays of Avize.
The advice of 12bottles: To offer or for your pleasure it is delivered in its very elegant case, this wine is a rare nugget that should be tasted for special occasions.
